The Harvey Foundation Pen Pal Program launched September of 2016 and we are currently in year three.  We work with a Kindergarten, 3rd grade, 7th grade and 9th grade teachers pairing members of the Nantucket community with Nantucket’s youth.  The Harvey Foundation sets up the partnerships as well as provides stationary, stamps and materials to kick start the writing process.  The pen pals write back and forth to each other throughout the school year and meet at the end of the year at a Pen Pal Ice Cream Social!  This program works to connect the Nantucket community through letter writing.
